Assessment can be performed both visually and digitally, either using a Light Booth and a Tilting Table or digitally in a DigiEye system. Digital assessment can be performed with the OmniStretch (OS) application in DigiProduction software, providing a measured value of opacity or translucency.

OmniStretch enables stretch-based opacity assessment of knitted fabrics, across different stretch levels. Two assessment plates are included, one is numbered and one is half black & half white.
It works by pulling the fabric in all directions, to simulate how clothes move when worn under both gentle and extreme applications.

While developed for fabric opacity, OmniStretch can also be used for other fabric stretching problems, for example logo addition testing on sportswear or colour comparison analysis. Pale coloured fabrics and prints may appear more translucent.
