Crocking is the undesirable property of a dyed cloth by which the coloring matter rubs off the fabric and smudges or soils other materials with which it comes into contact. This fault is usually traceable to imperfect dyeing, either in regard to the method employed or the inadaptability of the dyestuff. AATCC crockmeter cloth determines the color transferred from the surface of a colored textile material and other dyed materials (leather), to other surfaces by rubbing.
How it is used: The crockmeter square is held firmly over the finger of the crockmeter machine. The finger is slid back and forth over the dyed or printed test specimen. The crock square determines the amount of color transferred by dry or wet crocking.
Ramp Impex is the official Testfabrics distributor in India and supplies the AATCC Crockmeter Squares Box to laboratories across the country.
